Anna Resnikoff, LCSW
CO-FOUNDER, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & LEAD THERAPIST — AVID ICED COFFEE DRINKER
Sometimes it feels like the world conspires against our authenticity and we are faced with pressure to be someone we’re not, or to paper over our complex identities for others’ comfort and ease of understanding.
Anna Resnikoff, LCSW, is a NYC therapist specializing in relationship therapy, individual therapy, and identity work. She helps clients who feel disconnected, unseen, or uncertain about how to be authentic in their relationships and daily lives.
Anna provides relationship therapy in NYC and telehealth counseling for individuals and couples navigating communication struggles, identity exploration, and grief. Her LGBTQ-affirming approach and background in relational and psychodynamic therapy create a space for honest reflection and emotional growth.
Born in Austin, TX to a Caucasian mother and African American father, Anna was adopted at 2 days old by Jewish parents. Growing up, she faced judgment and pressure to choose a binary racial and class identity, an experience which helped her acquire wide-ranging empathy and curiosity about others, and an interest in humanizing the experience of anyone who's felt unheard, disregarded, and misunderstood. Through Anna’s education and training, she learned to help support individuals to let go of insecurities, anxieties, doubts and shame while increasing their ability to join others, negotiating difference and commonality in order to move towards self-actualization and living as their true authentic selves.
It is for this very reason that Anna Resnikoff, LCSW, an NYC therapist, has dedicated her practice to creating a space for those who feel disconnected, unseen, or uncertain of how to be their true selves. Believing that we all deserve to be understood, she offers compassionate individual therapy for personal discovery and collaborative relationship therapy for partners seeking deeper connection. The heart of her work is guiding clients through the beautifully complex journey of identity work.
Whether she is providing in-person relationship therapy in NYC or accessible telehealth counseling, Anna helps people navigate life’s inherent challenges. From untangling recurring communication struggles to moving through the tender process of grief or embarking on a path of identity exploration, her warm, LGBTQ-affirming approach offers a safe harbor for reflection. Drawing from the deep insights of relational and psychodynamic therapy, she partners with clients to foster profound emotional growth.
A Note From Anna:
All I ask is that my clients meet me with a readiness to trust in themselves and our relationship, and in the therapeutic process more generally. The work may not always be easy. Letting go of what blocks our authenticity can be uncomfortable and challenging, I know, but it leads us to the goal in the end and to many surprises along the way.
